Collection 01

This series of functional ceramic objects which explores colour interaction using slip — a form of liquid clay. Just like watercolour paint, diluted slip is translucent and can be layered on top of itself.

To make each piece in the petal collection, several colours of slip are sequentially poured over the side of each form, creating a graphic pattern. When two colours overlap, a new colour is formed. The result is a decorative surface that captures the fluidity and spontaneous movement of slip.
